The fruit for this wine comes from a cutting planted below eagle peak in 1998. It‘s rumored to be a rare Brunello clone from centuries-old vineyards outside of Montalcino acquired late-night and under questionable legal circumstances. But then, we’ll never know, will we? We hope you enjoy this illicit Sangiovese as much as we do! 

Red and black fruits of fresh ripe cherry, plum, wild strawberry, and fresh blackberry roll out of the glass and onto the palate. An exotic dimension is added with the tone of Chinese five spice - namely anise and nutmeg - as well as other baking spices lent by the oak, while a lingering earthy aroma provides a tip of the cap to something decidedly more old world.

*Fre Red Blend (*alcohol removed) offers a deep ruby color and ripe, black cherry scented aromas. Smooth and rich, it offers plenty of bright, grape, and cherry fruit with an intriguing smoky flavor. Fre Red Blend ends with a long, fruity, lingering finish.
