Elizabeth Vineyards

Elizabeth Vineyards is owned by my good friends the Foster Family, with Betty Foster as the head honcho. Here are some words about Elizabeth Vineyards from Betty:
We Purchased our 412 acre ranch in Redwood Valley, Mendocino County, in 1969. The property included 12 acres of vineyards, which we soon began expanding. We now have 80 acres of grape vines and our winery business is a family operation of three generations. My husband and I made our first 500 cases in 1987: now, with my son and granddaughter fully involved, Elizabeth Vineyards produces over 1500 cases. We also sell grapes to other prestigious winemakers in Mendocino. Like us, they recognize and prize the unique flavor and character of Redwood Valley grapes.
Redwood Valley is blessed with an excellent soil profile and favorable climate for grape growing. Here in our benchland vineyards, warm summer days are moderated by cool evening marine breezes, allowing our grapes to ripen more slowly and with longer hang time.
