While Riesling has always been part of the heritage of Handley, this is the first Riesling we have made since 2018. It is difficult to source the varietal in Mendocino. It grows best in cold climates but is susceptible to mold in wetter regions. We sourced the grapes from the same vineyard as the 2018 vintage located next to the brewery in Boonville. This inland site gets very little fog and moisture which is ideal for finicky Riesling.
