Barra Family Vineyards Estate grown
from the Home Ranch, at the Headwaters
of the Russian River. These organically grown grapes were delicately hand picked.
The grapes were destemmed directly into small lot fermentation tanks and cold soaked for 3 days. At this point, the grapes began to ferment with native yeast and nutrient was added to ensure a healthy fermentation. After being on the skins for 10 days, the tanks were drained and the skins pressed very lightly which produces a softer wine with low astringency less tannin extraction. The wine was then transferred to 75% neutral French barrels and 25% new, 4 year air seasoned American oak barrels. The wine was aged for 12 months in barrel before being bottled.
